The City of Hazlehurst operates under a Mayor-Board of Aldermen form of government. The Mayor and five Aldermen (one elected from each ward) serve as the governing body of the city. Together they set policy, adopt ordinances, approve the budget, and oversee the delivery of municipal services to the citizens of Hazlehurst.
